Head of Legal

About the Position

Our client, a corporate service provider offering a wide range of professional services across multiple domains, is seeking a Head of Legal. This senior leadership role is ideal for a strategic legal professional with a strong background in regulatory, corporate, and commercial law, and who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-industry environment. The successful candidate will lead a legal team serving a diversified portfolio of both local and international clients, with particular exposure to sectors such as iGaming, financial services, and digital assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the legal department’s operations, ensuring effective team collaboration and high performance.
• Advise internal stakeholders and external clients on complex legal matters, including regulatory, corporate, and commercial issues.
• Review, supervise, and maintain the quality of legal work produced by team members.
• Ensure the delivery of legal services meets internal quality assurance standards.
• Assign legal tasks to team members, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across client engagements.
• Act as a liaison with clients, external counsel, regulatory bodies, and internal departments.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring stakeholders remain informed of key developments.
• Identify opportunities to expand legal service offerings and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent, high-quality legal support.
• Provide ad hoc legal guidance and support to senior management as needed.

Requirements

• Legally qualified and authorized to practice law in Malta.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a legal, corporate services, or advisory setting.
• Proactive and collaborative individual with a solution-focused mindset.
• Solid expertise in corporate law, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
• Fluent in both Maltese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Capable of working independently and taking initiative when needed.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
