About the Role

You will:

Define and lead the overall IT and architecture strategy for complex systems and organizations.
Design scalable, secure, and future-proof IT solutions aligned with business goals.
Act as a strategic advisor for clients, including communication with senior stakeholders and C-level executives.
Translate complex business processes into technical concepts and actionable insights.
Prepare and communicate technical challenges into business-friendly language.
Lead cross-functional teams and provide architectural guidance across multiple projects.
Ensure alignment between solution architecture and enterprise architecture standards.
Drive innovation by leveraging modern infrastructure concepts such as microservices and containerization.
Establish and promote architectural best practices, governance, and standards.

About the Skills and Tools

You will use:

Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
IT service management standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 20000).
Modern Architecture patterns (Microservices, Cloud, Containerization).
Architecture modeling tools and documentation standards.
Java or other programming languages (hands-on experience recommended).
CI/CD tools, cloud platforms, and integration technologies.

About the Requirements

You need:

7 to 10+ years of relevant IT experience, with a strong focus on architecture.
Proven experience in both Solution Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
Hands-on coding experience (preferred, not mandatory).
Strong expertise in frameworks such as TOGAF and ITIL.
Deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure concepts, including microservices and containerization.
Strong business acumen, ideally with experience in the insurance industry.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence C-level stakeholders.
Experience leading cross-functional and distributed teams.
Readiness to travel regularly (depending on the project, we work partially from the client site).
Ability to work in the European Union.
Fluency in English and German (at least C1 level).

Nice to Have

Experience in consulting environments.
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with large-scale digital transformation projects.
A proactive mindset and passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Interest in mentoring and developing other team members.
Understanding what benefits AI can offer for customers.
Ability to create architectures to enable AI.
