PHP Developer (Laravel & AWS)

About the Position

Somplo is an Israeli/Ukrainian tech-based company specializing in digital advertising solutions for major agencies and international leading brands. With offices in Israel and Odesa, Ukraine, and a team of around 40 employees, we are a friendly startup environment full of creative and high-quality professionals. We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer with extensive experience in Laravel, SQL databases, and AWS services (preferably). The ideal candidate will have a solid background in back-end development, a strong understanding of modern web technologies, and the ability to design and implement scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework
• Design, create, and manage SQL databases, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
• Perform code reviews, identify bottlenecks, and debug to ensure smooth application operation
• Manage version control using Git and participate in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Work in an agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Requirements

• Proven experience as a PHP Developer with a strong portfolio of Laravel-based projects
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in building and consuming them
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, NodeJs, JavaScript, Angular
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Docker
