About the role:

We are looking for an experienced QA leader with deep testing expertise and the credibility to lead the QA function effectively in a complex project environment. You understand QA best practices, manage client expectations confidently, and provide strong people leadership. You are able to build trust with clients and colleagues, develop team capabilities, and establish a high-performing and scalable QA organisation.

You will:

• Lead the QA function within the project environment, ensuring a strong, credible, and effective quality organisation.
• Define and drive the QA strategy, test approach, governance, and quality standards across the project lifecycle.
• Act as the main QA counterpart for clients, managing expectations, building trust, and providing clear quality leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop QA team members, helping raise capability, confidence, and overall team maturity.
• Build strong collaboration across business, delivery, and technical teams to embed quality throughout the delivery process.
• Oversee test planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and quality risk management.
• Ensure the QA area is not only operationally effective, but also seen as a trusted and value-adding function by both client and internal stakeholders.
• Support UAT and coordinate with client stakeholders where needed, while maintaining ownership of the broader QA direction.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, tooling, and ways of working across projects.
• Be an active leader within an Agile delivery environment, taking ownership of the QA domain end to end.

Requirements

• Proven experience in QA leadership roles within complex project environments, with clear ownership of the QA function.
• Strong background in software testing, including test strategy, planning, execution oversight, defect management, and quality governance.
• Demonstrated experience managing client expectations and representing QA credibly with senior stakeholders.
• Strong people leadership skills, with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing QA professionals and teams.
• Experience building trust, creating team structure, and improving the maturity and effectiveness of the QA organisation.
• Good understanding of Agile delivery models and how to embed quality across cross-functional teams.
• Great command of English and Spanish, with full confidence working directly with client stakeholders in both languages.
• At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, business, finance, economics, or similar fields.
• Ability to work in Spain and the European Union on a full-time basis.

Nice to Have

• Experience in insurance or financial services projects.
• Experience setting up or transforming QA practices in delivery organisations.
• Familiarity with test automation strategy and quality engineering practices.
