Senior Design Engineer, Scotland

About the Position

We are supporting an international oilfield technology business with the appointment of a Senior Design Engineer.

The role will focus on the design and development of downhole and well-completion equipment, working across engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop downhole and well-completion equipment
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer teams
• Ensure compliance with API standards and regulated engineering environments
• Utilize SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design
• Conduct design verification, testing, and prepare technical documentation

Requirements

• Mechanical design experience within oilfield equipment
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Familiarity with API standards and regulated engineering environments
• Experience with downhole tools, completions, or pressure-control systems
• Strong skills in design verification, testing, and technical documentation
• Ability to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with packers, valves, landing strings, or related completion equipment
