Senior Software Architect – Java / Cloud-native / AI-ready (f/m/d)

COMPARUS GmbH is seeking a Senior Software Architect with expertise in Java, cloud-native systems, and AI integration to shape the future of software development.

Responsibilities

• Define target architectures & blueprints (security, resilience, observability)
• Build cloud-native systems (Java / Spring, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Establish AI-supported workflows within the SDLC (code, tests, delivery)
• Set API standards and structure integrations (REST, OpenAPI, eventing)
• Help shape CI/CD and platforms (AWS, OpenShift, GitLab/Jenkins)
• Analyse, modernise and make existing systems scalable
• Provide technical leadership to teams and align stakeholders from Dev to C-level

Your Impact

• 30 days: Gained an overview, delivered initial quick wins
• 60 days: Defined the target architecture, implemented initial decisions
• 90 days: Embedded the architecture within the project, established AI workflows, visible measurable improvements

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Software Architect in the Java/Spring environment
• Practical experience with cloud and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
• CI/CD, API design, observability – not just as concepts, but in practice
• DDD & Clean Architecture fully understood
• Experience of, or a genuine interest in, AI-driven development
• Ideally, knowledge of regulated environments (banking / insurance)
• German C1, English B2
