About the Position
Software Engineer II, Network Operations
Join Box as a Software Engineer II, Network Operations in Warsaw, Poland. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud operations and incident management.
Responsibilities
- Be part of the core operations team focused on leveraging AIOps in the incident management process.
- Collaborate with IT Operations, Corporate Security, Public Cloud, and Engineering teams to ensure high availability of all Box services.
- Utilize technical and communication skills to lead cross-functional teams through rapid incident resolutions.
- Model solid engineering practices around architectural design, testability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Build tools and processes to improve proactive monitoring, incident response, reduce toil, enhance documentation, increase observability coverage, and address technical debt.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience in an object-oriented or functional programming language, such as Python, Java, Javascript, etc.
- Experience with large-scale production operations or reliability engineering practice.
- Experience with working with Kubernetes and Public Cloud (preferred GCP, AWS).
- Confident and comfortable communicating to a broad audience.
- Calm and collected in stressful situations, such as a major service outage.
- Passionate about solving hard technical problems; a life-long learner who seeks out knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent technical discipline, or similar work experience.
Nice to Have
- Solid understanding of Networking, DNS, and OS/Systems.
- Flexibility to work shift model.
